The city of Alicante is located on the shores of the Mediterranean and it enjoys excellent communications by road, sea and air. The Alicante - Elche International Airport is very close to the city centre and it offers direct regular flight connections with over 120 different destinations in more than 20 countries.

The train station is located in the city centre, linking the capital of the Costa Blanca with the main Spanish cities with high-speed services. Very close is the metropolitan tram network, with direct connections and stops along the north coast of the province of Alicante.

The city is also a very attractive destination for cruise passengers. Alicante’s Cruise Terminal, strategically located on the seafront and opposite Santa Barbara Castle, receives more than 100.000 visitors every year.

    The Alicante - Elche International Airport, is located 10 minutes away from the city centre and it offers direct regular flight connections with over 120 different destinations in Spain, Great Britain, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark and Finland amongst other countries.

    Bus C-6 constantly connects the airport and the city, and there is also a local taxi network.

    How to get to Alicante from the Alicante – Elche International Airport

    C-6 Bus Alicante- Airport
    It links the airport terminal building with Alicante city centre every 20 minutes and it has stops outside the train station and other places of interest. This service runs every day.

    From the stops located in Avda. Alfonso el Sabio and Plaza de los Luceros you can easily access tram lines 1, 2, 3 and 4, taking you to San Juan beach and other tourist destinations along the Costa Blanca.

  • The RENFE-ADIF railway station is located in the city centre and offers daily connections with the main Spanish cities as well as some European capitals. The AVE fast train to Madrid connects the two cities in just over two hours several times a day.

    Wheelchair users can travel on Alicante buses. Adapted buses have access ramps for people with reduced mobility and blind people can travel accompanied by their guide dogs.

    All tram stops and tramways are adapted for people with reduced mobility and wheelchair travellers.
    Underground stations are equipped with escalators and elevators - especially designed for people with mobility problems.
    At all stops there are ramps to make it easier for people in wheelchairs to access the wagons from the platforms.
